Department of Information and Language Communication began to develop its activities from the beginning of the academic year 2015/16 as the successor of the previous Department of Foreign Languages. The last head of the department was Dipl. Ing. Cyril Závadský, PhD..

There were 4 internal teachers (3 assistant professors with PhD. and 1 lecturer) and 3 external teachers at the department for the academic year 2020/2021. The department provided teaching and learning of information and language modules at the first, second and third level of education in full-time and part-time study. The modules taught by the department provide students not only with the necessary theoretical knowledge, but also they develop practical information and language skills and competences. A great benefit for studying, as well as for the overall professional development of students of the faculty is an opportunity to study at foreign universities within the ERASMUS program.

Members of the department were involved into research projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republicthe Ministry of Education (VEGA, KEGA) and other projects. Within the solving these projects, members of the department used to organize scientific seminars, workshops and the results were published in international scientific journals and proceedings, registered in the database Scopus, Web of Science, Web of Knowledge, and others.

The teachers of the department were developping cooperation with domestic and foreign institutions and were organizing scientific workshops.

Some members of the department were members of editiorial boards of faculty scientific journal "Business revue" and online professional journal "Management in Theory and Practice".
