Compulsory subject
The aim of the subject is to present fundamental topics from the individual areas of finance, banking and insurance, to provide students with a basis for understanding the development of economic relations at the national and transnational level, to explain the principles and mechanisms of the functioning of financial markets, to point out the main types of financial instruments and the possibilities of their use and also on the main actors in individual markets, to explain the principles and mechanisms of the functioning of financial and monetary institutions.

- Introduction to the issue of finance. Development of finances. Definition of the financial system, the financial sector and its position and function in the economic system.
- Financial markets - characteristics, instruments.
- Money market – characteristics, instruments.
- Capital market – characteristics, instruments, entities on the capital market.
- Foreign exchange market – characteristics, transactions on the foreign exchange market, exchange rate.
- International financial system - characteristics, international financial institutions, balance of payments.
- Banks and financial intermediaries - definition of the banking sector, functions, commercial banks, operations of commercial banks.
- Central banking – legal status and independence of central banks, monetary policy.
- Public finances – definition of the public sector, entities. Management in public finances.
- Public finances - fiscal policy.
- Insurance and insurance market.
- Finance of social systems.
- Finance of the third sector.
