Compulsory module

The primary educational objective of the module is to provide basic knowledge of linear algebra and probability theory. In theory area student obtains the necessary knowledge on the basics of mathematics - function of more variables, linear algebra and probability theory. Practical skills: student applies theoretical knowledge to solve a specific tasks.

Brief course description:

  • Vectors, linear combination, linear dependence and independence, dignity and equivalence of vectors.
  • Linear space and subspace, basis and dimension, elementary change of base.
  • Matrices, systems of linear equations, determinants.
  • Kolmogorov space, the definition of probability, operations wit  probabilities, repeated dependent and independent trials.
  • Discrete and continuous random variable, the characteristics of a random variable, discrete distributions, continuous distributions.
