Compulsory course
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic models of operations research techniques that are used to address specific economic problems.
In theory area student obtains the necessary knowledge on basic models of operational research. Practical skills: student applies theoretical knowledge to solve a specific tasks.
Brief course description:
Optimisation methods course provides a basic understanding of the methodology of operational research and information on the main fields of operations research. Using a number of practical case studies gives instructions on how to use mathematical modeling and computer technology for decision making. The first part of the lecture focuses on the corporate structure models and introduction to linear programming. The second part is devoted to matters of graph theory and scheduling of economic activities using network analysis (CPM method and cost analysis).
