Information about the Educational Center in Michalovce

In May 1994, a branch of the Educational Center in Michalovce was established by signing an agreement between the city of Michalovce and the Faculty of Business Economics of the Bratislava University of Economics and Business with seat in Košice. The opening ceremony in September 1994 was attended by representatives of the state, headed by the President of the Slovak Republic, and a few academic officials, headed by the rector of the university. The beginnings of the branch were not easy, but the enormous enthusiasm of the representatives of the city, district, faculty and employees of the branch has caused that we have been successfully implementing more than 30 years of teaching. The Michalovce Educational Center currently educates all-round experts in the field of economics for the needs of the region. Teaching at the Educational Center in Michalovce is identical to teaching at the faculty in Košice. Lectures and exercises are provided by professors, associate professors and assistant professors from the parent faculty or from other universities. Teachers also provide students with consultations and students studying at the Educational Center Michalovce also take state exams at this workplace.

At the Educational Center of Michalovce PHF UE in Bratislava with its seat in Košice, it is possible to study at two levels of university study.

  • 1st degree bachelor's degree (Bc.) – full-time and part-time form of study, field of study: Economics and Management, study programme – Economics and Business Management.

Profiles of graduates

Regarding professional communication skills in foreign languages, graduates of both levels of study will also be successful in the international economic environment. Experts from practice and media personalities from various areas of economic and social life often come among the students. Cooperation with companies in the region is reflected in the solution of common problems in the form of bachelor's and master's theses, which helps to ensure that our graduates are well employed in practice. Our students are also successful in the field of student scientific professional activities. They regularly score not only in the faculty, but also in the university-wide and international round. In the building of the Educational Center in Michalovce  of the PHF EU, there are three lecture halls (P2, P3, P4), a spacious auditorium, two computer rooms (PU1, PU2) connected to the Internet, a study room and a common room. Students can work on computers throughout the school year not only during school hours, but also after school hours. Student accommodation is provided by the support of the city of Michalovce, which in cooperation with the Služby mesta Michalovce, s.r.o. provides our students with accommodation in double and triple rooms with accessories and internet. For sports activities, students use several gymnasiums, an ice rink and a swimming pool.
