A2S Virtual Marketplace: Where Academia and Society Meet Together

Thanks to the partnership in the international project 'Development of cooperation between the academic community and society through knowledge and capacity building', a unique portal was created in cooperation with ViVa Marketing, which will enable a more effective transfer of knowledge between the academic community and the public.

The portal in the form of a virtual marketplace offers a space where those interested in cooperation can connect together. The entire marketplace is based on an e-shop platform for the most friendly user experience, which represents the range of activities of all academic organizations from the V4 countries that are involved in the project. It allows private and public sector organizations to express interest in cooperation on a specifically offered 'product' (that is, a specifically offered activity or cooperation offered by a specific academic organization).

The project as a whole responded to the growing importance of the so-called third role of universities, i.e. connecting the academic environment itself with the society in which these institutions exist. An important aspect in the implementation of the project was primarily the increase of cooperation with regional partners, such as entrepreneurs or public administration institutions. In addition to the creation of a virtual marketplace, an international sharing of experience and good practices in the field of fulfilling the aforementioned third task of universities was carried out as part of international cooperation. Partner universities in the project were Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, Faculty of Economics and Finance, University of Economics in Bratislava, Faculty of Business Economy with seat in Košice and Corvinus University of Budapest, Institute of Marketing and Communication Sciences and Prague University of Economics and Business, Faculty of Management.

The virtual marketplace was created as part of the 'Developing Cooperation between Academia and Society through Knowledge and Capacity Building' project (reg. number 22310006). The project was co-financed by the governments of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and the Slovak Republic through Vyšehrad grants from the International Vyšehrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to promote the ideas of sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
