The Winter Universiade SR 2026

The Winter Universiade SR 2026 is the largest university sports event in 2026 in Slovakia

and will take place at the University of Žilina in Žilina (UNIZA) next week from 2 to 6 February 2026. Students of Slovak universities and colleges, as well as students in the final year of their studies, will have the opportunity to compete in 14 sports disciplines (10 individual, 1 pair (dance), 3 team) and several PHF students will be among them. 10 sports will be held at the UNIZA sports grounds and another 4 sports will be held at external ski resorts.

Although the official start of the Universiade is next week, some skiing disciplines already have their winners, as downhill skiing (19 registered) in Vrátná was already held this week on Tuesday (giant slalom) and Wednesday (slalom).

Our student Tomáš Mihalko achieved excellent results, taking 2nd place in slalom and 3rd place in giant slalom.
