Economics and Business Management

Graduates of the study programme Business Economics and Management in the field of study Economy and Management are qualified to carry out the profession: Bc. (business economist and manager) – the business economist and manager is able to solve less demanding economic decision-making problems, as he knows and understands the basic economic and managerial ties of the business. Graduates of the study programme Business Economics and Management are able to analyse simple economic phenomena and processes in the enterprise and its surroundings and on this basis make simple managerial decisions in accordance with the latest trends and requirements of economic practice. They are able to solve medium-sized tasks in various managerial positions at the lower and middle level of business management, especially in the areas of corporate finance, taxes, accounting, financial-economic analysis and management of the company and its resources. They also have theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the fields of national and business disciplines, law, international trade, marketing, mathematics, statistics and informatics as a quantitative content of the graduate profile. As the only graduates of economic faculties in the region of Eastern Slovakia, they gain a competitive advantage by taking a state accounting examination, which will support graduates in the field of accounting in manufacturing companies, but also in companies with different business and service activities. They find managerial application in various types of companies in the private and public sectors. Due to professional communication skills from foreign languages, they will also be well applied in the international economic environment, such as transnational corporations, joint ventures with foreign participation or directly in foreign enterprises.

Commercial Entrepreneurship

Graduates of the study programme Commercial Entrepreneurship in the field of study Economy and Management are qualified to perform according to the achieved degree of profession: Bc. (business specialist) – specialist in commercial and service businesses finds application in various types of businesses as a sales manager, sales representative by controlling business and commercial operations, is able to solve operational and strategic business problems, has knowledge of basic business functions and at the same time knowledge of basic business-commitment relationships and business activities between business entities. Graduates are also able to find jobs as quality and business technologists. They also have theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in marketing, business and services, strategic and international marketing, retail unit operations, market research, logistics, quantitative marketing and consumer protection methods. As the only graduates of economic faculties in the region of Eastern Slovakia, they gain a competitive advantage by taking a state accounting examination, which will support graduates in the field of accounting in manufacturing companies, but also in companies with different business and service activities. Corporate Financial Management

Graduates of the study programme Corporate Financial Management in the field of study Economy and Management are qualified to perform according to the achieved level of profession: Ing. (business economist and manager) – business economist and manager is able to solve complex economic and managerial decision-making problems of a company and ensure their implementation using optimization methods and tools in accordance with the latest trends and requirements of economic practice. Graduates acquire theoretical and practical knowledge and skills from risk management in companies, financial management, innovation management, quality management, controlling, crisis management, financial markets, financial analysis and planning, tax systems, information systems as well as strategic and project management needed for leading complex teams of workers and managing projects independently. Graduates have the opportunity to acquire practical skills and abilities in the teaching process, in which important experts from the practice in the region of Eastern Slovakia also participate. Through this profiling and knowledge of the functioning of the international financial system, investment, balance of payments and knowledge of international business, they are able to analyse the complex context of economic processes and managerial activities in an enterprise, which predetermines them to perform middle and top economic management functions. They are able to perform top managerial functions in the enterprise as a universalist and specialist manager. With regard to professional and communication skills, they will also be well applied in the international environment, such as transnational corporations, joint ventures with foreign participation, or directly in foreign companies, etc.

Corporate Business and Marketing

Graduates of the study programme Corporate Business and Marketing in the field of study Economy and Management are qualified to carry out the profession according to the achieved degree: Ing. (marketing manager) – marketing manager, marketing analyst, purchasing manager, sales manager, product manager or specialist for sales, distribution and logistics, marketing communications, market research, business operations, as well as consumer policy can address complex marketing challenges requiring medium and long term decisions. Graduates have knowledge about elements of marketing mix and methods of their effective synthesis, they are able to model virtual behaviour of consumer subjects and their interaction with marketing environment, they know methods of business systems management, they are ready to work in wide-spectrum business practice with knowledge of marketing philosophy and use of marketing tools. They are able to analyse and evaluate complex problems in the company regarding marketing management as well as problems of business systems. They are able to design and implement alternatives of diverse marketing mix concepts according to the latest knowledge of marketing theory and at the same time assess the interaction of market subjects with the complex marketing environment of the business entity. The knowledge gained in the field of application of modern marketing tools, creation of marketing concepts, functioning of business systems will enable graduates to successfully manage teams of employees, independently design projects and take responsibility for complex solutions of business and marketing activities in the enterprise. The professional profile corresponds to the experience gained from the application of a set of qualitative and quantitative methods in marketing, design of concepts for the attributes of modern marketing mix, formulation and verification of hypotheses from market data, experimental procedures in the evaluation of consumer and commercial market behaviour.
