Student survey
The Faculty of Business Economics with seat in Košica, as well as the entire Bratislava University of Economics and Business, is committed to continuous improvement. We kindly ask for your support in this pursuit. Only by knowing what you perceive as strengths and weaknesses can we respond appropriately, enhance our performance, and foster an ever-improving academic environment and conditions - primarily for your benefit.
For this reason, each semester we organize the Student Survey – Evaluation of Courses and Lecturers. Its purpose is to provide students of the Bratislava University of Economics and Business with the opportunity to express their views on the quality of the educational process. The objective is to gather feedback that will contribute to raising the standard of teaching and to the adoption of effective measures in pedagogy, thereby enhancing the professional growth of our academic staff and the overall quality of the university.
The survey is conducted across all faculties of the Bratislava University of Economics and Business, in cooperation with the University Student Parliament and the student parliaments of the individual faculties.
- The survey covers all courses taught in the given semester of the academic year.
- It is administered through the Academic Information System (AIS).
- Participation is anonymous and voluntary; however, we would greatly appreciate your recognition of positive aspects as well as constructive feedback on areas requiring improvement.
- The survey results are processed only after the examination period of the semester has concluded. The faculty management has access exclusively to aggregated data.
We sincerely thank all students who participate in the survey and assure you that your feedback is taken seriously and acted upon.
Evaluation of the "Student Survey on Courses and Lecturers" – Winter and Summer Semesters of the Academic Year 2023/2024
Based on the findings of the Student Survey on Courses and Lecturers conducted during the academic year 2023/2024, students have expressed overall satisfaction with the quality of teaching at the Faculty of Business Economics. Particular appreciation was shown for the use of practical examples, the integration of theory with practice, opportunities for teamwork, and the application of case studies in seminars and exercises.
The evaluation of the survey has led to the formulation and adoption of the following recommendations and measures:
- At the introductory session, lecturers are to inform students of the requirements for completing the course and to adhere strictly to the rules outlined in the course information sheet. In case of any uncertainties, lecturers will provide clarifications as needed. Nevertheless, students are reminded that personal attendance at lectures and seminars is essential to ensure full access to information.
- Where appropriate, lecturers may incorporate partial topics that complement the course content and reflect current knowledge and emerging trends, within the time available for the course.
- To strengthen engagement and motivation during classes, lecturers will make effective use of diverse teaching and learning methods (e.g., practical examples, case studies, projects, presentations of student work, discussions, group work, independent study, etc.). A wide range of methods, including innovative and activating approaches, will gradually be introduced across additional courses.
- Greater emphasis will be placed on summarizing covered material to ensure deeper retention of knowledge.
- To highlight the interconnectedness of course topics, lecturers will clearly define the objectives and content of each lecture or seminar so that students understand the relevance and added value of the material being studied.
- At the conclusion of each semester, lecturers will underscore the importance of the survey and encourage student participation, emphasizing that student feedback directly contributes to improving the quality of teaching at the faculty. This practice will be systematically continued.
In the longer term, student feedback on individual lecturers is addressed promptly through discussions with department heads. The resulting measures are subsequently incorporated into staff performance reviews during the evaluation process.
Dear Students,
we thank you sincerely for your views and suggestions. You will again have the opportunity to express them in the Student Survey on Courses and Lecturers during the academic year 2024/2025.
