VISION

The Faculty of Business Economics with seat in Košice of the Bratislava University of Economics and Business (EUBA) aims to be a sought-after and modern faculty of a recognized university of international significance by strengthening and developing academic excellence and quality in all areas of activity. The Faculty intends to continue striving for a leading position in the education of business economists and commercial professionals, not only within the Eastern Slovakia region but also in the broader European space. This ambition is based on the proven level and quality of education derived from the latest scientific knowledge, the intensity and quality of research, the success of graduates in the labor market, and significant partnerships with scientific, research, and educational institutions, as well as business practice.

MISSION

The mission of the Faculty of Business Economics of EUBA is to contribute to the development of education, knowledge, science, and culture in accordance with the needs of society; to develop knowledge, skills, wisdom, creativity, and human goodness, thereby contributing to the development of a knowledge-based society. The primary task of the Faculty is to provide high-quality higher education across all three levels of university study within a complex of economic and management study programs, as well as selected programs in the fields of humanities and information sciences. This is achieved by advancing knowledge through free creative inquiry in the fields of economics, business, informatics, humanities, and social sciences, contributing to the development of a knowledge-based society in the region, Slovakia, and the European space.

The Faculty adheres to the values and principles enshrined in the Magna Charta Universitatum. In accordance with this document, the Faculty, as part of the University, particularly:

 

  • Develops its activities based on the principles of autonomy and moral and scientific independence from politics, while respecting academic freedoms.
  • Applies the principle of inseparability of educational activities from science and research, and supports critical thinking in the creative activities of both students and faculty staff.
  • Rejects any forms of intolerance and xenophobia and promotes dialogue in all areas of the Faculty's activities.
  • Upholds and develops traditions within regional, Slovak, and European contexts, honoring the values of democracy and European humanism.
  • Promotes the traditions of European dialogue and supports interaction between cultures, while respecting and applying the principle of equal opportunities.

STRATEGIC GOALS

In defining its strategic goals, the Faculty draws upon key strategic documents, applicable laws, and regulations. These strategic goals serve as a firm foundation and inspiration for the creation of specific faculty priorities in individual areas, supporting its development, quality, and social responsibility.
